Laying your awning flat protects it from damage when driving on tight tracks and close terrain. It also gives the potential to reduce the height of your vehicle when clearance is an issue such as underground carparks

Product Description

Croc Hinge foldable brackets allow you to switch your awning onto the roof rack so you can protect it from damage. This is great when driving tight tracks in close terrain. Another benefit is that it provides the potential to reduce the height of your vehicle to get into those underground carparks.

We’ve discovered that some of our customers prefer to purchase a set of three brackets rather than a pair to suit their particular set up or purely for peace of mind. We are happy to accommodate with this bundle of three mounting brackets.

The awning specific version of the CROC HINGE® bracket offers the exact same functionality and versatility as the original (available here). The only difference is that it has a shorter product leg making it ideal for mounting a vehicle awning. When the awning is in use i.e. extended, it’s recommended that you tie it down so that it’s secure. Also use the provided support rod to lock into the deployed position.

Fitting a CROC HINGE® awning bracket to your roof rack lets you easily move your awning between two positions:

1. A vertical position on the side of the roof rack (deployed position), and
2. A position where the awning lies flat on the roof rack (stowed position).

CROC HINGE® foldable brackets are designed to suit most popular flat roof racks:

RHINO RACK FLAT STYLES (PIONEER SERIES) 

ARB BASE RACK – requires t-slot adaptors which can be purchased directly from ARB

ROLA TITAN – requires own hardware i.e. channels nuts given our products come standard with M8 channel nuts.

YAKIMA FLAT ROOF RACKS – due to the side-to-side cross members on this style of roof rack the spacing permits the mounting of MaxTrax however TREDS requires a Bridge Plate (sold separately).

FRONT RUNNER ROOF RACKS – due to the raised outer lip that’s characteristic of this style of roof rack CROC HINGE® mounting brackets are only suitable in combination with spacers (sold separately).

DIRECT TO A CANOPY

MESH STYLE ROOF RACKS – the CROC HINGE®  Bracket will fit a flat roof rack with ‘mesh’ style flooring however you will require a bridging plate.
